Who We Are
The dental facility was founded in 1979 and follows the same tradition of quality health care, reasonable prices, same-day-service and Ozark hospitality as first established by Drs. Harold E. George and Frederick C. Lauer as the Mid-America Denture Clinic. Dr. Jay Hildreth established Dental Centers' practice in 1995 and purchased Mid-America Dental Clinic in 1997.
Dental Centers with two locations in Mt. Vernon, Missouri at Mid-America Dental & Hearing Center-Highway and Mid-America Dental & Hearing Center-Loop is the Ozark pioneer of the custom, same-day, denture. Today, Dental Centers offers many other non-specialty interest services, including general dentistry with a new family dentistry emphasis, hygiene, crowns, bridges, orthodontics and implants.
read moreThe Dr. Harold & Betty George family is still actively involved in the company. Their son, Scott George, is a Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist; and serves as Chief Executive Officer for all non-professional services. Their grandson, Brian George, serves as Chief Operating Officer. Their granddaughter; Dr. Cheryl Williams, Mt. Vernon Clinic, also serves on the board.
Nationally known, Mid-America Dental and Hearing Center was included in a feature article on the front page of the Wall Street Journal on December 9, 1993. ABC News also featured Mid-America Dental and Hearing Center as part of a special story that aired on October 19, 2003.
A visit to Mid-America is a long-standing tradition for some families. There is free RV parking in the Mt. Vernon campground where patients stay while getting services at Mid-America Dental & Hearing Center. The well maintained, park-like setting has drawn many patients to visit Mt. Vernon for an extended period of time.
Our Staff

Dr. Collins said he joined the dental team because, "coming to Dental Centers allows me to do what I love, focus on caring for my patients."
Dr. Collins lives in Springfield, MO. He has three boys, Brett, Easton, and Treye. In his free time, he enjoys basketball, baseball, Fantasy Football, his kids, and outdoor activities.

Dr. May is an Illinois native who is excited to start a new life in Missouri. He recently married his wife, Suberina, and has a grown son, Nicholas. "Joining the Dental Centers Team offers me the opportunity to grow further as a dentist and to excel in my care to my new Missouri friends," said Dr. May.
In his free time, Dr. May enjoys boating for both pleasure and fishing, playing the drums and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

"I love to take care of my patients," Wendy says about her profession. A longtime resident of Mt. Vernon, Wendy also enjoys working close to home so she can ride her bicycle to work. She lives on a nearby farm with her husband, Scott. She and Scott have two sons, Trey and Kyler.
Wendy is a member of ADHA and ADA. She also received a Leadership Award while attending Ozarks Technical Community College. Her hobbies include riding motorcycles, gardening, flowers, yard work, horseback riding, going to garage sales and just being outside at any opportunity.

Nancy is the hygienist on the Missouri Dental Board, Advisory Commission of Missouri Dental Board and serves as a Board examiner for 3 testing agencies. She belongs to the American Dental Hygienists' Association, the Missouri Dental Hygienists' Association, and the American Association of Dental Boards.
Nancy says about her profession, "I like helping people maintain good oral health. I enjoy what I do; I love meeting the friendly faces of everyone who comes in". She currently lives in Springfield and has 3 children and 8 grandchildren.
Nancy loves spending time with her family. She also enjoys running, playing handbells at her church, and pheasant hunting. She is a huge KC Chiefs fan! GO CHIEFS!
