Meet The Dental Staff
Dr. Heiss has lived in Southwest, Missouri for the past 25 years. He is an Ozark native, growing up in Springfield, Missouri.
Dr. Heiss received his undergraduate degree from Drury College in Springfield, Missouri and attended the University of Missouri - Kansas City for his D.D.S. degree.
Dr. Heiss joined the Dental Centers team in 1996. He has four grown children and ten grandchildren. He enjoys traveling and collects antique trains. Dr. Heiss serves patients at the Highway location.
Dr. Brian Collins became a member of the Dental Centers Team in January 2008. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology/Chemistry from Southwest Missouri State University (SMU) and his DDS from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. Collins practiced in Southwest Missouri for 12 years before coming to Dental Centers. He is also a member of the American Dental Association and the Missouri Dental Association.
Dr. Collins said he joined the dental team because, "coming to Dental Centers allows me to do what I love, focus on caring for my patients."
Dr. Collins lives in Springfield, MO. He has three boys, Brett, Easton, and Treye. In his free time, he enjoys basketball, baseball, Fantasy Football, his kids, and outdoor activities.
Dr. Dwaine Cales joined the Dental Centers Team in October 2016. He received an Associate of Arts Degree from Pratt Community College, a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Kansas, and his D.D.S. Degree from Creighton University in 1975. Dr. Cales has been seeing patients at his private dental practice in Joplin for the last 41 years. Dr. Cales wanted to continue practicing dentistry after recently selling his practice; so he chose to come to Dental Centers because, "they help a lot of people."
Dr. Cales lives in Joplin with his wife Margaret. They have 4 married children, Jessica, Joshua, Joy & Joe. They also have 10 grandchildren; Ali, Brady, Owen, Naomi, Ava, Gresham, Zeke, Emmett, Tabitha and Lachlan. In his spare time; he enjoys tennis, biking, hiking & reading.
Dr McCall grew up on a small farm between Mt Vernon and Aurora. In 1981, he graduated from Aurora High School, and then in 1985 he graduated from Drury College with a degree in Biology. Dr McCall went to dental school at UMKC and graduated in 1989.
Dr Mcall has lived in Anderson MO for the last 24 years. His wife Dinah is a school teacher at McDonald County High School. Together they have three children: Kayla who is 18 and attends Crowder college, and Matthew and Madeline who are 13 year old fraternal twins and attend Anderson Junior High.
Their family enjoys watching Kayla's softball team, as she is a pitcher and Dinah is a coach. They also enjoy the lake, boating, and hunting.
Wendy Kalbaugh, a Registered Dental Hygienist, serves patients at the Mid-America Dental & Hearing Center - Loop location. She earned her Associate of Hygiene at Ozarks Technical Community College in Springfield. Wendy joined the Dental Centers Team in September of 2009.
"I love to take care of my patients," Wendy says about her profession. A longtime resident of Mt. Vernon, Wendy also enjoys working close to home so she can ride her bicycle to work. She lives on a nearby farm with her husband, Scott. She and Scott have two sons, Trey and Kyler.
Wendy is a member of ADHA and ADA. She also received a Leadership Award while attending Ozarks Technical Community College. Her hobbies include riding motorcycles, gardening, flowers, yard work, horseback riding, going to garage sales and just being outside at any opportunity.
Kristi Bayless is a Registered Dental Hygienist who serves patients at the Mid-America Dental & Hearing Center-Highway location. Kristi was inspired by her Aunt, who worked as a dental assistant, to become a hygienist. She earned her Associate of Hygiene at Missouri Southern State College in Joplin in 2015, and joined the Dental Centers Team shortly after graduating.
"Providing patients with the best care possible, earning their trust and building a relationship with each of them" is what Kristi says she finds rewarding about being a hygienist at Dental Centers.
A lifetime resident of Carthage, Kristi lives there with her husband, Jonathan and daughter, Jaycee. In her free time, Kristi also enjoys coaching softball, cooking, going to the lake, shopping at flea markets, do it yourself projects, decorating and horseback riding. Kristi is also a member of the Carthage Youth Softball Board.
